“You’re so good with words,” a breathless voice said. Lex could tell there was a note of amusement in his words. Lex heard the rustle of fabric, and heavy breathing for some long seconds. And then you came, like a beacon in the night.” “I feel like you’re the only real thing I have now,” Wayne said, the words barely intelligible through the sturdy door. But as he approached the door, he heard the muffled sounds of a conversation. He walked down the hallway way past 1am, early enough for any teen to be awake given that it was a friday, but late enough that no one would be inclined to leave their rooms. He knew this because he’d heard people talk in the hallways about jazz music playing at 4am and weird bumping sounds in the middle of the night. Wayne’s bedroom was just five doors down Lex’s. He’d make sure to catch Wayne along and, hopefully, have the first meaningful talk since his father sent him there. He shivered just at the thought of what nonsense the blond pest might spew all day.īut alas, Lex would have to resort to other methods. Lex had no idea how a respectable youth like Wayne could be with the likes of Queen. Wayne’s usually impassive face now open and a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He saw them walk around the school’s grounds, Queen’s shiny blond hair catching the sun and turning into a halo and Wayne’s crow black hair eating the light up. But Queen never left his side and, to Lex’s astonishment, Wayne seemed to warm up to the bubbly, manic Star City poster child. Lex had waited for his chance to approach Wayne, sensing a kindred spirit, an equal in that boarding house full of hormonal, irrational adolescents. Queen had taken to follow Wayne around like a yapping pup, talking Wayne’s ear off even when the Gotham heir seemed mentally miles away. It wasn’t Lex’s favourite topic-himself being more of a stoic-but he had to admit that Wayne’s passion and deep understanding had left the class speechless. Wayne had finally opened his mouth when they started discussing Nihilism. It had started in philosophy class a week ago. Not only had he been stalking Wayne like a hawk, he had also gone quieter. Lex Luthor knew Queen was up to something. Wherein Bruce is emo and Oliver Queen is sapiosexual ✨✨✨ This scene came to my mind and like, i can’t let it go down the drain.
